The BBQ That Fed 40: A Dad Boss Story
How one dad turned a Saturday cookout into a 40-person block party — and what it taught us about building community as a father.
Mike from Hamilton sent us a photo last summer: 40 people in his backyard, three smokers going, kids running in a pack across the lawn. The caption was four words: 'No one left hungry.'
What started as a Saturday cookout for his kid's soccer team turned into something the whole street showed up for. He wasn't trying to host an event. He just kept saying yes when people asked if they could bring someone.
That's the kind of dad we make stuff for. The one who's not waiting for permission to build community. The one who fires up the grill at 11 AM because he knows people will wander over.
